According to the Church's command, "after having attained the age of discretion, each of the faithful is bound by an obligation faithfully to confess serious sins at least once a year." Children must go to the sacrament of Penance before receiving Holy Communion for the first time.

The First Reception
of the Sacrament of the Reconciliation

Archdiocese Requirements:

• To enter into the program a child must be at least 7 years old and have attended regularly and completed the previous year in religious education classes.
  -If done at another parish, a letter from the Director of Religious Education at that parish must be provided
• Provide a baptism certificate from the church where they were baptized.
• The family must be registered with the parish and attend Mass and Holy Days as a family, on a regular basis.
